Services

We provide individualized lactation and infant feeding support for you and your baby. A brief overview of some topics we are able to help you with includes:

Latching and positioning, introducing bottles and other feeding methods, introducing solids, expressing milk with a breast pump, flange sizing, increasing or decreasing milk supply, weaning, preparing for tongue, lip, and/or cheek tie release, addressing slow weight gain, decreasing supplementation needs

Fees

Total out of pocket costs vary based on insurance coverage. If your policy does not cover lactation or if we are out of network, you may schedule a self-pay appointment. The fee schedule below applies to self pay visits. Although lactation is considered a preventative service and is mandated to be covered at 100%, we cannot guarantee reimbursement for self pay appointments. A superbill will be provided for your convenience.

NOTE: An active card must be on file for ALL patients. Your card will only be charged if your insurance determines you owe a portion, if you are a self pay client, have a travel fee, or for late cancellations. These policies are outlined in the payment policies section of your intake packet.

Please discuss any concerns regarding ability to pay prior to your appointment. You may be eligible for discounted services.

UHC

UMR

Aetna

Meritain

Other insurance companies may cover your appointments 100% through gap exceptions or The Lactation Network. Please contact us directly at hello@hoosierbreastfriend.com for further information.

Federal law requires most health insurance companies to provide coverage for lactation services. If we are not in network with your insurance company, you may schedule an appointment as a self pay patient.

Self pay patients will receive a superbill, which can be submitted to the insurance company for reimbursement. Reimbursement cannot be guaranteed but we will code your superbill appropriately and accurately.
